Royal Exchange, London

This painting was inspired by the view from the top of the Campanile on the Venetian Island of Torcello.   The city of Venice is on the far horizon with the island of Burano with its leaning tower in the middle distance.  John Ruskin, the Victorian Art Critic, said this was his favourite view where nature and humanity could be seen together.
